As the second week of the January transfer window grinds into action there appears to be no let-up in the City related rumour and speculation doing the rounds.
Let's crack on with The Sun’s claims that City are eyeing a move for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.
“Mega-money City are ready to battle Euro heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for the £80million-rated playmaker,” writes Mike McGrath.
“Belgium team-mates Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne will play a key role in trying to persuade Hazard, 25, that the Etihad Stadium is the right place for one of the world’s top stars.
“But they will look at other options for a world-class attacking midfielder, including Hazard.
“Paris Saint-Germain are also keen and believe they could lure him back to France.
“Hazard had a spell at Lille before joining Chelsea three-and-a-half years ago.
“Real Madrid are also long-term admirers and have been linked with Hazard following the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as boss.
“PSG, Real and City are among the small group of clubs that could afford the £80m fee.
“The Belgian scored 19 goals last season as he inspired Chelsea to the title and was rewarded with a new contract.
“But Hazard has not scored at all this term as his form has dipped dramatically — and there are fears at Stamford Bridge that he is looking for a move.”
Elsewhere, City’s hopes of landing Real Madrid’s Spanish star Isco have been “dealt a blow” according to the Mirror who claim the midfielder is firmly in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for Los Blancos.
“City were keen on a January deal for the Spain playmaker with a loan plus a permanent option in the summer” writes John Cross.
“But Isco has held talks with Zinedine Zidane and the new Real Madrid boss has told him he wants him to stay.
“Juventus also enquired about Isco who fell out of favour under Rafa Benitez but is now straight back into Zidane’s set up.
“Isco is desperate for more regular games ahead of Euro 2016 and has agreed to assess the situation again this summer.”
And finally, City’s pursuit of Schalke striker Leroy Sane faces the sternest of competition if German magazine Kicker are to be believed with Barcelona and Real Madrid set to rival the Blues for the German under 21s’ signature.
“The Clasico duo are reportedly in the hunt, with Schalke "increasingly unlikely" to hold on to Sane amid talk of a huge January bid from City. While the Bundesliga club may be able to keep the promising player this month, any bids around the €50 million mark are likely to seal a deal” reckon ESPN’s Transfer Talk blog.
