Three European giants join the list of clubs tracking the Spanish midfielder, talk of George Evans extending his loan and Bury react to Ian Lawlor signing…

News outlets have been linking City with a move for Real Madrid’s Isco nearly every day of the transfer window so far and now talkSPORT, via AS, are reporting that three other European giants have entered the battle for the Spanish playmaker.

They write: “Bayern Munich, Juventus and AC Milan have joined Manchester City in the battle for Isco.

“The attacking midfielder is reportedly looking to leave Real Madrid after struggling to hold down a place in the first-team.

“City are keen to bring the Spaniard to the Etihad as manager Manuel Pellegrini is a big fan of the 23-year-old having worked with him at Malaga.

“However, according to AS, Bayern Munich, Juventus and AC Milan are all ready to join the race for Isco.

“The trio have been scouting the former Valencia man and have been sparked into life by City's attempts to complete a deal.

“New Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, however, has confirmed that he wants to keep hold of Isco.”

City youngster George Evans has been in fine form for Walsall so far this season and the Saddlers are confident of extending his loan deal until the end of the season, according to VitalWalsall.

The fan site states: “Reports are suggesting that Sean O'Driscoll is confident that on loan Man City midfielder George Evans will extend his current loan deal with the Saddlers.

“Evans has been in fine form for the Saddlers since arriving from the Premiership giants so much so he has kept former player of the year Sam Mantom out of the starting eleven.

“It was rumoured that Evans was set to join Brentford and Dean Smith during January but the Saddlers have agreed a deal in principle.”

And finally, Bury confirmed the loan deal of City’s young goalkeeper Ian Lawlor on Thursday and manager David Flitcroft has had his say on the 21-year old on the Bury Times website.

Lawlor, who recently spent time on loan at Barnet, has joined the League One side on loan until the end of the season and could be set for a debut in today’s FA Cup clash against Bradford City.

Mikael McKenzie scribes: “Bury have completed the loan signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Ian Lawlor until the end of the season.

“The 21-year-old is not cup tied and has been granted permission to play in this weekend's FA Cup clash with Bradford.

“Lawlor has spent the last month on loan at League Two side Barnet, where he made five appearances, keeping one clean sheet.

“The Dublin-born keeper was part of the Manchester City first-team squad that toured Austria in pre-season in the 2012/13 season, but has been mainly part of their under-21s development squad since arriving from his local side Home Farm FC.

“Manager David Flitcroft said: ‘We have monitored Ian’s progress since he signed for Manchester City and have been impressed with his form in development games and respective loans.

“’We are delighted to secure Ian to the end of the season and he will add great competition with Rob Lainton for the number one jersey.’”
