In a slight change to the usual agenda, today we start with news of a departure after a true blue called time on his City career.
George Evans joined Championship outfit Reading yesterday after 14 years in a blue shirt, during which he represented the Club at every level from U8s to First Team.
After such service, the midfielder was quick to thank everyone at MCFC for the support he received since signing as a school boy.
He said: “I joined Manchester City at the age of seven and have enjoyed every minute of it.
"I feel honoured to have had the chance to represent the Club I support and am grateful to everyone there for the time they have spent improving me, not only as a player, but also as a person.”
We wish George all the best in the next stage of his career.
Now on to incoming players and rumours are rife with just over a week to go in the January transfer window.
First up is the rumour that Paris St-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is unhappy at the French club and has put City on alert ahead of a possible transfer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
In their daily transfer rumour article, that also links City with Paulo Dybala and Alexis Sanchez, Stuart Brennan writes: “Edinson Cavani is said to have put Manchester City on summer transfer alert after indicating he is unhappy at Paris St-Germain.
“The Uruguayan striker, who was a target for the Blues when he left Napoli to sign for the French giants in 2013, was on the bench as they won at Toulouse at the weekend.
“And Le Parisien journalist Ronan Folgoas believes he will agitate for a move in the summer, saying: ‘Cavani himself wanted to leave at the end of last season but the club closed the door.
“‘This time, both sides seem a little tired and Cavani is still not happy.’”
Christy Malyan states: “According to reports from the Daily Mail, Manchester City have joined the race to sign highly-rated Athletic Bilbao starlet Inaki Williams.
“The Spain U21 has been dubbed ‘the fastest player in La Liga’ after setting a new Spanish top flight record of travelling at a whopping 22.2 miles per hour last season, and has been in scintillating scoring form this term, bagging six goals in 14 La Liga starts and 10 in 21 across all competitions.
“Last week, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were all linked with the 6 foot 1inch starlet, who can operate as a winger on either flank or as an out-and-out frontman, and are reportedly considering activating his £15million release clause before the close of the January transfer window.
“But according to the Daily Mail, the Premier League trio now face sizable competition for Williams’ signature from title-hopefuls Manchester City.
“In a boost to the transfer efforts of all four rumoured suitors, the British newspaper add that Bilbao are struggling to agree the terms of an improved contract with Williams’ agent Felix Tanita.”
And finally, Wilfried Bony’s agent ruled out a move from City yesterday and now the man himself has spoken on the matter.
Speaking to BBC World Football, the Ivorian said: "I'm happy at the Club, all this speculation is not true.
"I have a contract so I'm happy and I think I'm at one of the top clubs in the United Kingdom.
"I have no regrets about joining Man City.
"We play in the Champions League and we're one of the top clubs in the world. I'm happy here and I can just say I'm blessed."
