There's plenty of City-related transfer gossip to sink your teeth into this morning...
Links to Leroy Sane and Isco appear again, plus City rumoured to be interested in FC Nordsjaelland youngster…
We’ll start today’s round-up with the news that City will supposedly have to make Leroy Sane the most expensive German in history if they want to sign him, according to EPSN.
It was first reported on New Year’s Day by Club journalist David Clayton in Transfer Talk, and today the rumour has reappeared with ESPN, via Bild, stating that the Schalke midfielder will command a fee of £40million.
They state: “If reports are true, the fee for Leroy Sane could surpass the German record Real Madrid paid for Mesut Ozil.
“Bild reports that the Premier League-title hopefuls are preparing a huge €55m (£40.5m) offer for Schalke attacking midfielder Leroy Sane, who has attracted the club's interest of late with four goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season.
“A move of that magnitude would make Sane -- a Germany Under-21 international -- the most expensive player in German history ahead of Mesut Ozil (€50m in 2013), putting a lot of pressure on the 19-year-old's shoulders.”
Isco has been rumoured to be moving to City every day in January and today is no different with Shoot reporting that City have now been quoted a fee for the Spanish international.
Shoot scribe: “Manchester City have reportedly been quoted £30m if they want to sign Spain international Isco this month.
“The Premier League giants, who defeated Watford 2-1 on Saturday to remain three points behind league leaders Arsenal, are readying a January move for the Real Madrid star during the mid-season transfer window.
“The 23-year old, who has 12 international caps for the defending European champions, has scored three and assisted eight goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit this season.
“However Isco, who could be reunited with City boss Manuel Pellegrini following their time together at Spanish rivals Malaga, is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities under Madrid boss Rafael Benitez this term.”
And finally, City are supposedly tracking Danish youngster Emre Mor, report the Sun.
The battle for the 18-year old FC Nordsjaelland midfielder is between four clubs, with City one of three Premier League clubs involved in the rumours – Southampton reportedly the favourite to sign him.
Mike McGrath writes: “Southampton are ready to launch a bid for Danish whizkid Emre Mor.
“Although the 18-year old is wanted by Turkish giants Galatasaray, the Saints remain confident they will win the race for the youngster.
“Manchester City and Everton have also been keeping tabs on the Denmark Under-19s midfielder but Ronald Koeman is in pole position to land him.
“FC Nordsjaelland have made Mor part of the first-team squad after he started on a part-time contract.
“The Danish Superliga side are set to receive £3.5million when he moves away from Denmark.”
