It may be a bank holiday but that doesn’t stop the newspapers from speculating on prospective targets in the summer ahead.
Nor me rounding them up for you...
We kick off our Easter Monday media round-up with a story from Italian publication La Stampa which links City and United with Torino’s Serbian defender Nikola Maksimovic.
According to journalist Manassero Francesco, the Manchester clubs will battle for the 24-year old when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.
A Serbian international, Maksimovic is under contract at Torino until 2020 but his future has been the subject of conjecture in the Italian media for a number of months.
If your Italian is as good as mine (ie: non-existent), you may need Google translate to read the finer details here.
Elsewhere, 16-year old striker Dusan Vlahovic is another player said to be interesting scouts at City.
The latest player to be dubbed “the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic”, the 6ft 2in forward is youngest professional in the history of Partizan Belgrade and his form is tempting both City and Arsenal, according to France Football.
Google Translate is "mon ami" once again...
“Aged 16, Dusan Vlahovic is the new sensation of Partizan Belgrade, and perhaps the future of Serbian football," the story reads.
“In line with Pedrag Mijatovic, Stefan Jovetic or Adam Lajic he perpetuates the traditions of this great club.
“PSG has already overseen several times, and made inquiries about this profile to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Comfortable technically, with a fine shot and excellent ball protection, Dusan has a very large room for improvement.”
Turning our attentions to Germany, reported target Ilkay Gundogan, has released a statement via his management group, to emphasise that no deal has been agreed for the German international.
It had been thought that the principles of a transfer had been agreed with City but Gundogan’s representatives have issued words to the contrary.
The statement reads: "It is not true. There is no decision and still everything is open.
"Ilkay focuses further once on his recovery."
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder missed England’s 3-2 win over Germany on Saturday through injury.
Finally, David Silva played 79 minutes of Spain’s 0-0 draw with Romania last night and only one of his teammates scored a higher rating on whoscored.com.
The City playmaker received a 7.1 score for his performance which saw him complete 80% of his 60 passes playing in behind Valencia forward Paco Alcacer.
