City on Marsh:

England defender Steph Marsh joined City in December 2013 from Blackburn Rovers Ladies.

Born in Warrington, Marsh progressed through Everton’s academy but struggled to break into the Toffees’ first team.

In 2012, Blackburn spotted her potential and she signed a senior contract for the Lancashire outfit.

Regarded as a highly talented left-back, the 22-year-old went on to make 35 appearances for the Rovers before making the switch to City.

Admired for her speed, attacking ability and threat from set pieces, Marsh is one of the brightest young talents in the country.

She made her debut for England at under-15 level, progressing through the ranks to the under-19s. Whilst playing for the under-17 side, she represented her country at the World Cup in New Zealand – a feat she regards as her best yet.

Her personal hopes for the season ahead are to become a first-team regular, helping the team in their bid to become a competitive FA Women’s Super League team that will hopefully go on to qualify for Champions League football.
