Manchester City Football Club is preparing a planning application which will seek permission to expand the Etihad Stadium.
The vast majority of matches are sold out and further demand for tickets remains. An expanded Etihad Stadium would allow more people to watch City, enlarge the range of new facilities and provide ticket prices to cater for all budgets. Extensive supporter research clearly indicates that there is a strong desire for more general admission tickets and a variety of matchday hospitality offerings.
We pride ourselves on our positive relationship with both local residents and fans and are therefore keen to seek your views on these proposals, just as we did at the outset of our plans to build the City Football Academy.
Between July and September the Club undertook a period of initial consultation on their proposals. This feedback has helped to shape the plans for the stadium expansion that are currently being presented within the exhibition space in BT City Square and shown on these pages and a planning application for these proposed works is now being prepared.
The exhibition* and the information on these pages forms an important part of the planning application process and is designed to inform local residents and fans of the Club’s more detailed proposals. We would like to know what you think of the proposed design and ensure that you have all of the information you need about how the changes to the stadium may affect you.
*Open on matchdays only until 30-minutes before kick-off
