Carlos Tevez's inspired December performances as the Blues' goalscoring talisman made him an absolute shoo-in for the Etihad Player of the Month award.
The little Argentine striker went from dynamic to dynamite as he recorded an eight-goal haul that inevitably saw him race away with the award when you came to cast your Etihad votes.
Carlos collected 57 per cent of the thousands of votes to take the title by a landslide with previous winner and fans' favourite Craig Bellamy, fine few weeks that he had, polling 11 per cent to finish second.
Mr Reliability Nigel de Jong, whose consistent midfield performances this season have put him in the frame every month, had his supporters again to take third place with eight per cent.
But there was no denying Tevez from the night he snapped up the vital opener in the 3-0 demolition of Carling Cup visitors Arsenal then followed up with a strike to help sink Chelsea.
His double at Bolton in a 3-3 thriller just seemed to whet Carlito's appetite. After Sunderland restricted him to a penalty in City's 4-3 win, he scored the goal that sealed Roberto Mancini's debut win as manager then finished the month with another pair at Wolves.
Etihad and City would once again like to thank fans for their tremendous reponse. The competition winner is Anne-Marie Mockridge from Ashton Under Lyne, who has been selected from all the entrants who nominated Carlos.
Anne-Marie will present him with the winner's champagne and lead proceedings for an exclusive mcfc.co.uk video interview later this month. She has supported City for more than 30 years and said: "I'm over the blue moon! I couldn’t have asked for a better start to 2010.”
