32 City fans from 32 countries share their thoughts on the World Cup and their love of the Blues...

Your full name

Els De Porre

Your country

Your town

Your age

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself

I love football but suck at playing it (although I secretly practise with my dog)

Your favourite City player

Belgian pride: Vincent Kompany of course!

Your favourite player for your country

Tricky one, since we have so many good players... I'll have to go with Thibaut Courtois, he's young and looks a bit shy off the field, but once he puts on those gloves he changes into a key, strong player. (Or maybe I'll go with Hazard. Or De Bruyne. Or no, maybe Benteke... Or...)

Who is your country's star player?

I don't think we can point out one star player. Our selection consists of strong players on any position and the coach, Wilmots, decides who plays, depending on the tactics.

How far do you think your country will get at the World Cup?

This is the first big tournament for this selection and all of Belgium has high hopes, yet we ought to remain realistic! Finishing first in the group phase needs to be the minimum, what comes after that is fantastic. I honestly believe Belgium can defeat more experienced squads during the World Cup so I secretly hope for 1/8 finales.

How important to your country is the World Cup?

Enormously important! Belgium has waited for this since a looooong time and I want to believe this squad is reviving patriotism amongst both French and Dutch speaking Belgians. Politics wants to divide us, football shall unite us.

Which country do you think will win the World Cup?

If I had to bet on it: Brazil.

What was the first World Cup you remember watching?

Erm... 2002, when our current coach scored three times before Belgium was defeated by Brazil. Hoping he will be able to take revenge this time is asked too much, no? :-)

What is your first memory of watching City?

The first game where Kompany scored, against Wigan Athletic. Let's not mention the defeat! :-)
