Two days remaining in the transfer window and unsurprisingly on a matchday, very few rumours. There are a few nuggets flying around though...
Let's start with the Express, who are reporting that City have withdrawn their interest in Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi.
Writes Ben Jefferson: "The Argentine international was close to moving to Spain but Porto's demands were too much for financially challenged Valencia.
"Jose Mourinho is thought to be a fan of the player, while Manchester City were linked with a double swoop for Otamendi and Porto teammate Eliaquim Mangala as Manuel Pellegrini sought to strengthen his rearguard with Joleon Lescott eyeing the exit.
"It seems both clubs have now decided against a move but Manchester United are also thought to be interested and could yet try and offer the player a move before Friday."
So, that's the end of that then...
Elsewhere, defenders are on the agenda once again as Sports Direct News are claiming that City are preparing a bid for Benfica full-back Joao Cancelo.
According to Richard Flynn: "Reports in his homeland claim a bid is in the pipeline, with A Bola reporting that Benfica will hold out for £10million.
"Sports Direct News understands the asking price could prove to be a stumbling block, with the Blues keen to pay closer to £5m for a player who is yet to establish himself at first-team level.
"City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been alerted to Cancelo’s performances for Portugal under-19s and in last year’s Under-20 World Cup.
"The title challengers could tie the offer in with the proposed deal for Cancelo’s club team-mate Andre Gomes, the highly-rated midfielder.
"However, Monaco and Liverpool are also very much in the hunt for Gomes."
And finally, talkSPORT have suggested that a number of Premier League clubs - including City - are monitoring the progress of Italian wonderkid, Domenico Berardi.
On the radio station's website, they declare: "Berardi scored plenty of goals for Sassuolo in Serie B last season, but few expected him to continue that form to the Italian top flight on the level he has managed this year.
"With 12 goals in 16 Serie A games, the striker is in exceptional form, leading to the interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea.
"According to Tuttosport however, co-owners Juventus already have Sassuolo’s word that they can purchase the remaining half of his rights for €10m in the future. It could be difficult for any Premier League sides to snap him up, therefore."
So, that's not looking either promising... I think we're alright for strikers anyway, thanks!
That's all for today folks. As always, any confirmed transfer deals will be announced first on mcfc.co.uk.
City take on Sunderland in the Premier League on Wednesday 12 February in what will be a dress rehearsal for the Capital One Cup Final in March.
Can the Blues avenge the Stadium of Light defeat earlier this season? A night match under the lights at the Etihad and a preview of the forthcoming final - demand is expected to be high as Manuel Pellegrini's side attempt to continue their incredible run.
