Another day, another heap of transfer speculation...

We're three days into the transfer window and the stories are coming in thick and fast! So what do we have for you today?

Well, the Daily Mirror have a couple of transfer rumours to ponder over...

Darren Lewis claims that Spurs have entered the race to sign Joleon Lescott. Yesterday, it was revealed that Besiktas were keen to capture his signature but apparently, more clubs are eager to do so.

Writes Lewis: "The north Londoners are eyeing up versatile England defender Lescott, 31, to help solve their injury crisis at the back.

"Turkish club Besiktas have already moved to offer Lescott some regular first-team action, but he would prefer to stay in England as he seeks to force his way into Roy Hodgson’s World Cup plans.

"City’s official line is that they are unwilling to allow the centre-half, who can also play at left-back, to leave as they have a defensive crisis of their own while competing in four competitions, but their position is understood to be weakening.

"Lescott knows that if he remains at the Eastlands club beyond this month, he will be behind Vincent Kompany, Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis in the pecking order.

"As such, he is actively exploring all of his options, with Newcastle and French side Monaco also said to be interested."

We'll see about that one!

Also according to the Daily Mirror, Stoke and West Ham are set to battle it out to snap up John Guidetti on loan.

David Anderson suggests: "Manuel Pellegrini is considering sending Guidetti out on loan, because of his lack of first-team opportunities at the Etihad behind Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic.

"The Sweden Under-21 striker has yet to play a Premier League game for the Blues and has made just one senior appearance for them - in the League Cup, more than three years ago.

"Guidetti, 21, was sent out on loan to Feyenoord in Holland for the 2011-12 season and scored 20 goals in 23 matches (see below).

"The Hammers and Mark Hughes' Potters have been short of goals from their strikers this season and are both keen on Guidetti, as are a number of foreign clubs.

"Now it is up to Pellegrini to decide which is the best option."

And elsewhere, talkSPORT have announced that Sporting Lisbon are poised to snatch Nigerian starlet Kelechi Iheanacho from under City's noses!

They claim: "City were thought to be frontrunners to sign the 17-year-old after Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi last month claimed the forward was finalising a switch to England.

"However, he is now on the verge of signing for Sporting Lisbon, according to reports in his homeland.

"Sporting are willing to fork out £250,000 and add-ons - an offer which exceeds domestic rivals Porto's £210,000 bid.

"Iheanacho, who is on the books at Taye Academy, was the star of last month's Under-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates where he scored six goals and was named the player of the tournament as Nigeria claimed the title.

"City were not the only English side to express an interest in him - both Chelsea and Arsenal have monitored him, while PAOK Salonika, Udinese and Monaco were also in the running to sign the striker."

That's it for today! As always, if there's any truth behind any transfer speculation, we'll have it here first on mcfc.co.uk!
